Windows 2000 Routing
The "Routing and Remote Access" administrative tool is used to enable routing on a Windows 2000 server that is multihomed (has more than one network card). Windows 2000 professional cannot be a router. The "Routing and Remote Access" administrative tool or the "route" command line utility can be used to configure a static router and add a routing table. A routing table is required for static routing. Dynamic routing does not require a routing table since the table is built by software. Dynamic routing does require additional protocols to be installed on the computer.
The "Routing and Remote Access" tool is used to install, configure, and monitor these protocols and routing functions. After any of these dynamic routing protocals are installed, they must be configured to use one or more routing interfaces.

Cisco CCNP “Building Cisco Remote Access Networks” Video Tutorial.
Cisco CCNP Exam 642-821 Building Cisco Remote Access Network (BCRAN) is a qualifying exam for the Cisco Certified Network Professional CCNP certification. The BCRAN exam (642-821) focuses on using one or more of the available WAN connection technologies for remote access between enterprise sites. It also assesses techniques and features for enhancing WAN and remote access connections. The exam will certify that the successful candidate has the knowledge and skills necessary to describe, configure, and implement comprehensive remote access solutions in the enterprise environment.
Over the past few years, Cisco has transformed formerly multiple-choice, rote memorization exams into true tests of one’s application of knowledge and skills. Therefore, the BCRAN exam, as is the case with most Cisco exams, requires a good deal of planning and strategy during the preparation stage. The Building Cisco Remote Access Networks (BCRAN) exam is one of four required exams (or one of three exams, depending on the track you choose) for the Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification program. In this article, I discuss what you need to know to prepare for the BCRAN 642-821 exam and cover some test-taking strategies, and provide some tips for obtaining your CCNP aswell.

Welcome to The Tips and Tricks Guide to Active Directory Troubleshooting!
The book you are about to read represents an entirely new modality of book publishing and a
major first in the publishing industry. The founding concept behind Realtimepublishers.com is
the idea of providing readers with high-quality books about today’s most critical IT topics—at no
cost to the reader. Although this may sound like a somewhat impossible feat to achieve, it is
made possible through the vision and generosity of corporate sponsors such as NetPro, who
agree to bear the book’s production expenses and host the book on its Web site for the benefit of
its Web site visitors.
It should be pointed out that the free nature of these books does not in any way diminish their
quality. Without reservation, I can tell you that this book is the equivalent of any similar printed
book you might find at your local bookstore (with the notable exception that it won’t cost you
$30 to $80). In addition to the free nature of the books, this publishing model provides other
significant benefits. For example, the electronic nature of this eBook makes events such as
chapter updates and additions, or the release of a new edition of the book possible to achieve in a
far shorter timeframe than is possible with printed books. Because we publish our titles in “realtime”—
that is, as chapters are written or revised by the author—you benefit from receiving the
information immediately rather than having to wait months or years to receive a complete
product.
Finally, I’d like to note that although it is true that the sponsor’s Web site is the exclusive online
location of the book, this book is by no means a paid advertisement. Realtimepublishers is an
independent publishing company and maintains, by written agreement with the sponsor, 100%
editorial control over the content of our titles. However, by hosting this information, NetPro has
set itself apart from its competitors by providing real value to its customers and transforming its
site into a true technical resource library—not just a place to learn about its company and
products. It is my opinion that this system of content delivery is not only of immeasurable value
to readers, but represents the future of book publishing.
As series editor, it is my raison d’ĂȘtre to locate and work only with the industry’s leading authors
and editors, and publish books that help IT personnel, IT managers, and users to do their
everyday jobs. To that end, I encourage and welcome your feedback on this or any other book in
the Realtimepublishers.com series. If you would like to submit a comment, question, or
suggestion, please do so by sending an email to feedback@realtimepublishers.com, leaving
feedback on our Web site at www.realtimepublishers.com, or calling us at (707) 539-5280.
Thanks for reading, and enjoy!

Creating Games in C++: A Step-by-Step Guide
Do you love video games? Ever wondered if you could create one of your own, with all the bells and whistles? It's not as complicated as you'd think, and you don't need to be a math whiz or a programming genius to do it. In fact, everything you need to create your first game, "Invasion of the Slugwroths," is included in this book and CD-ROM. Author David Conger starts at square one, introducing the tools of the trade and all the basic concepts for getting started programming with C++, the language that powers most current commercial games. Plus, he's put a wealth of top-notch (and free) tools on the CD-ROM, including the Dev-C++ compiler, linker, and debugger--and his own LlamaWorks2D game engine. Step-by-step instructions and ample illustrations take you through game program structure, integrating sound and music into games, floating-point math, C++ arrays, and much more. Using the sample programs and the source code to run them, you can follow along as you learn. Bio: David Conger has been programming professionally for over 23 years. Along with countless custom business applications, he has written several PC and online games. Conger also worked on graphics firmware for military aircraft, and taught computer science at the university level for four years. Conger has written numerous books on C, C++, and other computer-related topics. He lives in western Washington State and has also published a collection of Indian folk tales

Windows Server Hacks

Why Windows Server Hacks?
While most common, day-to-day tasks of Windows administration can be performed from the GUI, it's not always the best way, especially with complex or repetitive tasks. Scripts and command-line tools often provide a faster and more flexible approach, and Windows has grown more powerful in this area with the progressive addition of VBScript, Active Directory Services Interface (ADSI), Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI), and dozens of new commands to each new version of the platform. Unfortunately, learning to leverage the power of these different features takes time—a precious commodity for today's busy system administrator.
